BERKELEY, MEET IRELAND

Jesse Dutton-Kenny. 20 year old U.C. Berkeley student spending the spring semester of 2012 in Dublin, Ireland studying at University College, Dublin. I am a Native American Studies/Ethnic Studies major with a minor in Celtic Studies, hence the Ireland. I am also a potter, a writer, a former barista, and a traveler, hence the study abroad. I will be using this blog to post about stuff I learn, stuff I see and places I go in the hopes that it will encourage further study abroad experiences.
Our first dinner with the UCEAP Orientation group was at Pizza Milano (Ireland’s answer to UK’s Pizza Express, like a wayyyy classier fast food pizza place). They’re everywhere. These are their doughballs which were super addictive and were served with butter as a starter and nutella as a dessert. Haha. I also won a 20 euro gift voucher here for later in the term because I got the highest score on a silly “Test Your Irish Knowledge” quiz on the first day of orientation. Yay Celtic Studies, thanks for helping me know the Irish National Anthem and what all the provinces were…
